Bridging AZ provides basic furniture and household items to those who are economically disadvantaged or transitioning into permanent housing. As the only furniture bank in Arizona and serving 60 social service agencies, programs and churches, those in need of our services exceed our resources. Individuals and families are allowed up to two beds depending on the size of the family. In most cases 2 beds are simply not enough when serving families with 3 or more children. Bridging has identified children's beds as a crucial and unmet need for the families we help. The solution is the 5,000 Beds in 5 Years Campaign, a campaign that aims to achieve a goal of 1,000 bunk beds a year to be distributed to the children of the families we serve.
Why bunk beds? Often those we provide furniture to are short on space, bunk beds provide accommodations for two children while taking up less room than say 2 twin beds.
