That is our goal. Bridging AZ provides basic furniture and household items to those who are economically disadvantaged or transitioning into permanent housing. As the only Furniture Bank in Arizona and supporting over 100 social service agencies, programs and churches who provide services to families in need. As many nonprofits these days, needs of the community exceeds our resources. Individuals and families are allowed up to two beds depending on the size of the family. In most cases 2 beds are simply not enough when serving families with 3 or more children. Bridging has identified children's beds as a crucial and unmet need for the families we help. The solution is the 5,000 Beds in 5 Years Campaign, a campaign that aims to achieve a goal of 1,000 beds a year to be distributed to families we serve.
Bunk beds are the answer? Often those we provide furniture to families who are short on space, bunk beds provide accommodations for two children while taking up less room than say 2 twin beds. In 2010 Bridging will begain a campaign whereby we will ask businessess and churches to build bunk beds for our clients.
